Over 16s only, this is because of the hot kiln work taking place during the workshop and the handling of enamel powders. Sorry, this workshop is also not available during school holidays.
Enameling, is a technique of fusing powdered glass to a copper pieces by kiln firing. You will have a choice of copper shapes to choose from and these will form the base for your enameling piece. The sifting, stenciling and sgraffito techniques will be demonstrated at the start of the session and you will be guided during the workshop.
You will be able to make three pieces and your work will be kiln fired during the workshop and your pieces can be taken away.
Duration is typically 2 to 3 hours, groups of 5 and 6 will be 4 to 6 hours due to the firing time required. Unfortunately not available as an evening booking.
The cost of the workshop is £28 per person, maximum of 6 people, booking essential.
Enamelling is not advised if you are pregnant or nursing because of the powders being used.
